These people are crooks! My experience with this company was an absolute nightmare.
Their product was faulty (even the replacement unit was broken) and they don't tell you
the products are used or refurbished. Unbelievable.

Air and Water, Inc. - return policy rip off
10-8-08 Air & Water, Inc.
17335 Mount Wynne Circle
Fountain Valley, CA 92708
www.air-n-water.com
This company promoted with "free" shipping a portable air conditioner that was
incapable of cooling a room half the size its capacity should have handled. ).
Complying with their return policy cost me $151 (see attachment).
Spend your money with some other company that treats its customers better.

I had the worst customer service experience with Air-n-Water and would strongly recommend
looking elsewhere to buy. I tried to buy a dehumidifier from this company through Amazon,
and was even willing to pay more for it because the company promised faster shipping than
other sellers. The company never actually had the product to sell, and then gave me a hard
time about giving me my money back. First, Air-n-Water told Amazon that it had shipped the
product (on a Sunday – from the U.S. Post Office!) so that I no longer had the option of
canceling my order, while simultaneously telling me that shipment would be delayed. The phone
number they sent in their email to call with questions was not a working number, and when I
finally tracked down the company’s number myself I learned that they don’t answer their telephone.
I tried reaching the company by email, but never received a reply until I finally threatened
to give negative feedback here and contact Amazon.com directly. Eventually, Air-n-Water admitted
that they didn’t have the product in stock and didn’t know when/if they were getting any more in.
They promised that they cancelled my order and refunded my money but that it would take 3-4
days for the bank to “process” my refund. However, since I’d paid with an Amazon credit, the
refund should have shown up immediately. Amazon said they hadn’t even submitted the refund.
It took the threat of filing an A-Z Guarantee claim against the company to get my $$ back.

I began the "return game" in the middle of September. It is now November, and I have sent 2 emails, applied for a return code, and placed 2 calls.
"They are backed up" is the best answer I've gotten. Now that I've read this, I'm getting worried...

To Air-n-Water Management:
As first time customers we were very dissappointed to find that when we ordered our CT3600A Honeywell Thermostat
it was refurbished. Below you will find what we saw when we ordered this Thermostat. As you can see there is no
statement of your thermostats being refurbished.

This is the second order that the product arrives broken or deffective. First time return
process was easy; this second time I'm receiving no return number and a suggestion that I
don't know how to plug in the cooler that does not turn on at all. Quality control is poor
or nill in my opinion. Unfortunately I have not been able to find another on-line store so I
may have to cancel cc payment and just go to Home Depot or Lowes. Coupons sent with the packing
slip expired last fall. Telephone customer service is not helpful bc she doesn't know
anything about the products so cannot understand the questions. All in all a terrible
experiencs and will not deal w Air & Water again although I need 3 evaporative coolers before summer.

In June I purchased an attic exhaust fan Dayton 7F67 from Air-n-Water, 17335 Mt.
Wynne Circle, Fountain Valley, CA 92708. On June 6 Air-n-Water sent me instead attic exhaust fan, model Dayton C713. Although Air-n-Water’s added packing slip showed the model number I had ordered, the manufacturer’s model number on the box and on the fan itself was different. The two different model numbers coincided with descriptions and photographs of two different models on Air-n-Water’s own web site. The one that I had received lacked the features and size I desired and ordered. When I called to complain and ask for redress, however, Customer Service immediately argued that I had actually received the right fan (or as good as) and that the company had made no error, despite the clear evidence to the contrary. This approach was not a fluke but a considered one, because different employees took this same tack each time I called. When I insisted on sending this incorrect item back, I learned that I had mistakenly been content to accept their boast on their introductory website that they were “fanatic” about customer satisfaction and promised a “fair and friendly” acceptance of returns. Instead I learned from Customer Service that it was company policy never to issue refunds for either initial or return shipping even in the case of company error, and to charge a 15% restocking fee on any return whatsoever. Nevertheless I followed their instructions for obtaining a Return Merchandise Authorization. Although their website promised to give me the required authorization within two days I heard nothing for nearly a week. Finally I called again. This time I managed to persuade a clearly reluctant Customer Service to grant me the authorization but only after being left on hold for half an hour and having a Customer Service representative hang up on me without warning. Instead of apologizing or attempting to be gracious Customer Service was rude and arrogant throughout. Clearly the policy of Air-n-Water is that the customer is always wrong. When the refund finally came I learned that I had lost over $86 in shipping and restocking fees because of their company’s error. I would never again deal with this company under any circumstances.

I do not recommend purchasing from this company. DO NOT BUY from this company
if ever will need parts and who won't need parts. They don't carry parts and the
split A/C unit I bought was made in China and there is no way for me to get parts
from China. Air-n-Water doesn't even provide information to obtain parts from
another supplier.

I went searching far and wide over the internet for an air conditioner for my allergies.
I don't want any fresh pollen enriched air in my bedroom. I stumbled upon
www.air-n-water.com aka www.store.yahoo.com/air-n-water/ which had very nice pictures
of their products. I called them and asked them if the soleus mac 12k air conditioner
with dual exhaust would achieve this. Customer service was prompt and friendly. They
told me that it does not draw fresh air into the room. When I got the product I noticed
on the box written in big bold black letters - "Draws in fresh air with evaporative
technology" across the box. I called their customer service and thought that I'd just
exchange it for a better one that would not exchange air. I called their customer
service back and asked if the soleus split air conditioners exchange air in and out
of the room. They told me that this particular air conditioner does exchange air as well.
A little skeptical after getting wrong information in the first place, I call five of
the major portable air conditioner manufacturers (LG, Soleus, Panasonic, Supentown,
Amcor). Everyone of those companies had excellent and knowledgeable customer reps.
All the manfacturers told me that a split air conditioner or a central a/c unit were
the only things that would solve my problem.
I called them back and got an RMA number instead of exchanging the product.
I decided I should not give a company that misinforms their customers and does
not own up to their errors any of my money.
They send me an email that said I was going to have to pay a restocking fee.
I called them back because it was not my error. I was willing to buy a more
expensive product to avoid all this mess and they led me wrong a second time.
They said they would call me back in two days. I patiently waited a week and
called them myself and they "transfered me to a manager" aka put me to her
voicemail. I left a message and they called me back about 2 hours later just
to tell me they would not give me the restocking fee. I have filed a complaint
with the better business bureau of Los Angeles - www.labbb.com.
They have since changed their website and added information under the product
soleus mac 12k portable air conditioner. The added information is conveniently
in red.

Air-n-Water BAD!
Ordered wrong product. Cust svc advised me to refuse it, and return for refund.
Weeks later I had to call for refund! They had received it, and had NOT made
refund?! Not happy with their service!

This company has the worst customer service that I have seen in a long time. I purchased
a defective electronic thermostat from Air N Water in May of 2003. I returned the thermostat
in June, when the first day of installation caused my heating system to skyrocket to 90+
degrees and stay there. I never received a refund. I emailed on July 21, 2003, and got a
response that they would look into the problem "and issue a refund". I heard nothing else
from the company and received no refund. I then emailed on September 3, 2003 to follow up,
and immediately received a response that they would look into it, but of course, I have
yet to see a refund.
